A joint City of Algona & Algona Chamber of Commerce celebration, Founders’ Day is a celebration for all ages. Many school and family reunions are planned around the event as it grows each year. Activities feature free children’s movies, bus tours of historic Algona, kids games, live entertainment on the Carnegie Library Lawn, BBQ Showdown, the Morwens Kiwanis Talent Show, street dance, a Classic Car Show, Triathlon and Open Golf Tournament. The Kossuth County Genealogical Society is also sponsering an "ANTIQUE PHOTO ROADSHOW"- on Friday, July 8th from 1-6pm and Saturday, July 9th from 9am-Noon, you can bring in your old photos and postcards to be scanned while you wait.
